Hi there my lovely readers ^^
So here is my first picture tutorial, and its a set of colour fade extensions. All products used to create these were Crystal Nails (mostly Acrylic).
These are the current nails I am wearing and I love them =]. I have been wearing Gel for a while now but at heart I'm an Acrylic girl through and through.
Can you guess my inspiration for these?

These little beauties! Rosy Apples ^^

So I hope you enjoy the tutorial. Have fun!
Much love

1. Prepare the nail following your usual prep.

2. Fit the sculpting form to your nail and extend the nail bed using cover pink.

 3. Apply coloured Acrylic to the form right up to the smile line (I apologise for my uneven smile line, I was rushing to get these done before my next client >.<)

 4. Apply a different coloured acrylic to the form, blending the two together.

 5. Cap the whole nail in clear acrylic and file and shape until happy.

6. Add some nail art and a few crystals and your done! Finished result ^^

Will Acrylics ruin my nails?

OK. So I've decided to blog about this because, again, today in the salon a client tried to tell me that Acrylics had previously ruined her nails (Que me beginning my lecture..)

Do Acrylics ruin your nails? No.
Unfortunately many people are misinformed about this system, giving it a bad name. I am sad to hear that even some Nail Technicians are telling their clients this =[.  Product alone is not the cause of the damage to your nails. Over filing, or buffing of the natural nail can cause thinning of the nail plate as well as an 'At Home' removal. Tearing, pulling, picking will obviously cause damage as layers of the nail plate will be taken in the process.

The Acrylic system(or liquid & powder) is perfectly safe, as long as you have a qualified, skilled Nail Technician and you follow all the advice and aftercare given which is...

- Treat your nails as jewels not tools, try to use the pads of your fingers instead
- Use cuticle oil daily to keep your extensions flexible and natural nails nourished
- Wear gloves when doing housework
- Keep maintenance appointments regular in order to keep nails strong and looking great
- Don't pick, pull, bite or glue your extensions
- If any reaction occurs: redness, rash, inflammation, contact your Nail Technician straight away
- NEVER try to remove the extensions yourself, always get them removed professionally

So what do you guys think? What are your experiences with this system?
